ME
Just back from Orlando. Thanks for the suggestions from some on here. On the Sunday after we arrived we went to Basspro. It opened at 10am and we arrived early at 9:30am, the place was already heaving with people waiting to get in. Imagine your local B&Q warehouse but just selling outdoor gear - amazing ! I went to the scope counter and got Mung on my mobile phone, after some chat on my mobile between Mung in the UK and the "good ol' boy" behind the counter Mung bought a very nice Zeiss scope. Basspro Front Doors Bass Pro Front Doors too I like the motto under the door "Welcome Fishermen, Hunters and other Liars" !! Check out the Toyota truck on display outside - Toyota Truck Truck too My missus did some shopping for a few days and I did some business whilst over there. We had some time to kill on Wednesday so we went to the local shooting range. We walked in and I told the guy behind the counter that we wanted to have a lesson with handguns. Stoney serious faced the guy said "You know what ?".... <long pause>...."That kinda scares me...." <another long pause with a straight face>.... followed by a big grin and "Only kiddin y'all, we'll get you signed up and you can rip it up in our range". They basically showed me each gun, how to load it and sent me to the range by myself. If I am honest I would have been more comfortable with a little more training but not wanting to act like a pussy I just ploughed on with it ! Attached is the bill and some pics. I am not an expert on guns, but we started off with a little revolver (0.22) and after that I worked up through a 9mm, a 40 and ended up with a 45 Luger. I was surprised at the kick on the Luger (I am sure I hit the ceiling a few times ). The target shown is with the Luger. Mrs LV with the revolver LV with the Luger (I think) I forgot to add that each target was supported on a wire carriage by a piece of cardboard and a bulldog clip. When Mrs LV was using the revolver she shot the bulldog clip and the target dropped to the ground. She decided after that to just spectate ! Pic of the Luger Gun Range Rules Target with the Luger - this one is going on my office wall ! What it cost - a bargain for 2 hours enjoyment ! If anyone is going to the Orlando area I highly recommend this range. After we were done we asked the guy to book us a taxi to the Mall which was about 3 miles away. The owner of the range said that he was popping out anyway and gave us a lift - what a nice fella ! He told us that he has owned that place for 20 years and at the moment he gets on average four groups from the UK PER DAY in there. I hope you enjoy the photos Matt (LV)

ME
Yep good read Matt, I knew you would enjoy the place Me and the wife would love to live there, but too old now, (The Wife Not Me!) I think its how Britain should be, (Not the violence) the buildings and shops,Welcome back Bud. Dont think it didnt cross my mind Ron ! The housing market is taking a pasteing over there and there are bargains to be had. Speaking to the local's they have a big immigration problem there too though. They are victim to the Puerto Ricans who come over, do nothing and sponge off the state. Every local shop we went into and the Malls have signs in English and Spanish. I went out for lunch with some guys over there and one redneck type said "There's only one GOOD kinda Puerto Rican - and that's a dead one !" Wookie
That's a Ruger you fool! In fact, judging by the size of the rounds, it's a KP345. $540 to you squire. Lovely gun though. Shot one when I was in Ft. Lauderdale and it's a really good, cheap piece of kit. I met the EMEA sales guy at DSEI and he was really pleased to hear I'd shot his products. Sounds like you had a good time over there!

All I know is that is was a 45 and it made a loud bang and lots of kick !
