Oly
Apologies Cranners - any chance of reinstating an edited version? No offence intended, just a bit of fun.
russuk
Wouldn't it have been easier to just delete the offending material. Instead we have lost Purdeys insightful thoughts! Anyway... Riiiiiiiiiight, that's why the Paris-Dakar is full of them. They're far too heavy to even think about going near a desert. http://jalopnik.com/cars/clips/oy-vey-toyo...r-h2-253551.php

Oly
OK - I see more footballers, wives & kids in Hummers than Defenders as I pass through footballer land (Wilmslow) for work. In a desert I would put money on being able to fix a landy, but not a Hummer 8mpg is simply obsene

Guest The Outlaw
Oiy you lot dont do it again!!! Behave. Right The landy is better than the Hummer because it is cheaper by a mile and the fuel costs alone would be vastly different. Thats without the service and maintenence costs. Ouch The Hummer and the Landy are made for the army but the Hummer you get over here in the UK is narrower than the American version because our quaint little historic villages cant handle the oversized beast from over the pond. If I had the money to buy the Hummmer I would rather spend it on a Landy, two off road Quads, two new guns, a years supplyof shells/ammo, and a week in Disney Land Florida. And my neighbours would still like me. Tony
Oly
An my neighbours would still like me. And on behalf of the rest of the world, and future populations, (particularly those worried about climate change) - so would we.

simonp
Simon - interesting to see the invisible tide line on your Frontera...or didn't you dare even try?!? We couldn't go through it until I'd moved the landy. Simple really (at no point am I saying Fronteras are better off road than Landys, like DUH!!), just saying that even landys get stuck It was quite funny really as at least 3 discos drove passed and asked the landy I was helping if he would prefer to be pulled out by them !! Wookie
Ah! Another Frontera saving the day. Nice one Si, good to see you helping these amateurs out. I love the idea of owning a Landy, the very lifestyle choice of it is great, but every time I sit in a decent early 90, I realise how basic it is and how much I like the leather seats, power steering, ABS, AirCon etc, etc of my Frontera. After that, it's difficult to bring myself to think about buying anything else.

Martin Aaaah HUMMER - the ultimate in reverse Tardis engineering, as Martin says, how can something so BIG on the outside be so small on the inside? With gas prices on the up they can't give 'em away at the moment. I'll admit that the crew cab pickup model looks sort of cool.

Oly
two more "Tom car" http://www.tomcar.com/ cracking bit of kit I want one!! Looks like great offroad capability but only a little 750cc engine in the two seater version - loads of fun! Always fancied building myself an offroad VW sand rail...but why bother now!
