The story I have heard from one of the ladies who works there is that the current man who runs it has had a falling out with the landowner because of the noise created. The current owner was asked to cease shooting for a lunchbreak while the wedding vows were made(the ground is along a wedding venue) and he refused, he is therefore not getting his lease renewed when it runs out in june.

There has been quite a lengthy court battle from all accounts but at the end of the day the current owner has been silly in my opinion.

It will be a shame to loose such a good ground.

Think your right there MC, there is enough antis about without causing any more ammo for them!. If thats what happened then he has fetched it down on his own head,..... how would he feel if it was his own daughter/son getting married? :no:Just noticed ,the ground owner may be continuing to run the shoot? Hmm well may all turn out OK in the end??.

Ah a landlord opposing the grant of a new lease under Section S30(1)(g) of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

That old chestnut.

Ah, that explains it. Should've known :good:

<leaves to dig out a big book on confusing law from the 1950's, a dictionary and an idiots guide to trees>

:lol::lol:

Went to Braintree today for a couple of rounds. Didn't notice any sign of a closure. :good: Oh well, i hope the ground continues to allow shooting but in what setup? Hopefully nothing more major than timetable changes, it's a good ground although the targets could do with a rotation/occasional change.
