Totality
Hi all, Joined up as having trouble finding the info!! I'm looking at 12 bores capable of taking the 3.5" magnum round. So far all I can find is the Benelli Nova which doesnt seem to be sold anywhere!! Can anyone recommend a different brand capable of taking the 3.5" cartridges and that is OK with the standard certificate as I'm not interested in getting a FAC or anything above 2+1 shot. Thanks
Baldrick
Winchester are bound to make a model. I'd point you towards the Beretta Extrema, the Benelli Super Black Eagle II and the Remington 870 Express. One of the wildfowling devotees will be able to steer you more accurately though, someone like pavman or martincavie.

MC
Winchester do their X3 which is 3.5" chambered, personally I can't recomend a Beretta Extrema enough. they are superb, although I was going to sell mine because I just couldn't get on with it. 5 geese in my freezer wouldn't agree though I have heard a couple of reports on the Benelli not being man enough for the heavy loads and the bolts breaking up, how true they are I cannot say. If you want a cheap rough gun then it has to be an Escort, if you want to pay a bit more then look for an Extrema 1 secondhand. Or if you are very flush then an Extrema 2 it has to be. beatingisbest
If you want a cheap rough gun then it has to be an Escort I have one of the 3 1/2" escorts and its a good gun although wont cycle 100% of the time with 30g loads, it usually cycles 2/3 cartridges, heavier loads are fine. Totality
Thanks for the advice all. Have been having a look today. Didnt realise the Beretta Silver Pigeon came in 3.5" size too. Have been looking to get two guns - one that can take the magnum cartridges for occassional use and an over/under for use at clay pigeon events, etc. If I can find a Beretta 3.5" then I can use it with the magnum on the odd occassion I need to but also have a nice gun that can be taken to clay shoots without the image that semis usually give people - if I was even allowed to take a semi along! Pity the game shows are a long way off yet Can anyone recommend a good game show down south of the UK that is good for buying guns at? May just get the cheap and cheerful Escort Magnum in the meantime and keep the cash for a gameshow or for when a Beretta pops up Sound sensible? I have a winchester X3, nice gun but really all winchesters are virtually the same as Brownings because they are now the same company. John forseys have a super nova priced at £525- But I would'nt advise on a pump when you can buy a good quality auto for the same money. This is the 3.5" gun run is as follows; Benelli SBEII (£1100) - Great quality gun but on the expensive side- supernova pump a no-no Beretta ExtremaII- (£1100) Again a great gun and cycles everything but on the expensive side again. Browning Pheonix- (£650) Alright and more or less the same as the Winchester X3- But not available Winchester X3- (£650) Again as above better camo finish than the Pheonix Escort 3.5", (£360) Good but won't cycle less than 32g so that rules out clay loads, I have one of those too. Remington 1187 waterfowl (£800)- Again good quality but very similar to the Hatsan Escort in design/style

anser2
I have a Baikal auto 3 1\2 inch and cant fault it . Got it for £250.00 almost new ( only fired 30 shells ). Only once had problems with it jamming after I put some wet , muddy \ gritty shells through it in the dark. Otherwise its been faultless. Magicman
Sorry to bump this thread ........... Im pretty interested in a Browning pheonix (3.5" ) .................the only thing holding me back is what loads it will cycle on, as hoping to use it for all manner of things from wildfowl down to the odd bit of clay shooting as well - the beretta sounds ideal but im not prepared to pay that much as the usage wont justify the price tag. Thanks in advance
