leon
I need some new stalking boots but don't no what to go for, the ones I have are quite high to support my dodgy ankle so the new ones could do with being the same height. I have tried a google search which come up with nothing, your thoughts would be appreciated gents. Regards Leon

Hammergun
If you are after the traditional fell boots as used by the Lakeland fell packs, with sprung toe and commando, or nailed leather soles, you can get them from William Lennon and Co, tel 01433 630
lurcherboy
Try Le Chemeau. Had mine for 18 months and I can not fault them. I have dodgy ankles too and these are excellent support. Not cheap at £ 165-00 but I had to replace my old ones every 6 months @ £105-00 ish so they have proved cheaper in the longrun. Also still completely waterproof! Aled_cky
i havn't got any at the mo as i use farming riggers. if you get second hand ones they have already been worn into so they do not hurt asmuch, and use thick socks in them Aled
The Sniper
Leon, Try www.altberg.co.uk I have had a pair of their boots for about 7 years. Very comfortable. Hard wearing. Plus they have the high leg you want. As regards their after service, it is spot on.
jimdfish
If you have a decathlon store near you ( its a massive sports sports shop , and i mean massive. French company) they have their own range of hiking boots in goretex type material starting from only 25 squids up to whatever you want to spend. Heartily recommend them. They also have green shooting waistcoats for only 15 squids. Bargain jimDfish

neil
I have a pair of merell (spelling???) hiking boots, they cost about £80 but are as comfy as a pair of slippers, totally waterproof and quiet, i've walked miles in them with no complants. red_stag88
The main thing is that they are water proof. If you are out for along time with damp socks it plays havoc with your feet. Athletes foot can come very quickly.
