Big_Sam
Just wondered how far all you chaps travel to your nearest shoot? With the SGC hopefully arriving sometime in the next 3 months, I need to get some practice in before hitting the field. My nearest clay shoot (apart from a couple of steel only ranges (lame)) is 70 miles away! To be honest that is not far when you live up here If you shoot at more than one you can tick more boxes Cheers, Sam Edited January 9, 2008 by Big_Sam
Chard
I suppose I'm quite lucky. Manchester Clay Sports is less than 10 miles from me, and it's Motorway most of the way, so it only takes a few minutes
Big_Sam
Well since starting the thread I have found one place that does monthly shoots about 70 miles from here, but my nearest proper clay ground is still 135 miles away. AdamC
I am pretty lucky also. I have 2 shoots close to me that run every fortnight on alternate weeks. One of them takes less than 5 minutes to drive to and the other takes about 10 minutes.

the last engineer
little different here in land mass and population, the closest ground is 40mins away, 25 in mine , a lot of the other grounds are spread around the province, the farthest being a 6 hour drive south and east, place called Brooks, lovely grounds, lot of coin spent there, very well laid out and provisions for out of towners http://www.clayandfeathers.ca/course.html interesting link north would be Grand Prarie, thats around a 4 hour tramp, east and west around 2 hours to the border, somebody invent a transporter unit for me,,,,,please Martin

Fat Dog
Very lucky where I live. Six clubs / shooting grounds within twenty miles, three of which I shoot regularly. But then we only have a wee country.

Northerner
I have only every shot at the A6 due to it being so close but it is ok not as busy as it used to be and the atmosphere did change after matt passed on. The prices have also gone upto £5.50 per 25 for DTL I find it good but generally now because i go on my own i just turn up shoot and then leave without really talking to anybody.
