This includes: - Sec.1 approved firearms with the written option for use on live game, vermin, and wildlife, for each specific firearm held on it - Sec.2 approved Shotguns - Legally owned air rifles 12ftlbs or above if on a sec.1 certificate, with the addition of use for the destruction of vermin Unlawful/unsuitable weapons for hunting - Bow and Arrow - Crossbow - Spears, darts and other hand launched missiles - Sec.1 firearms not appoved for hunting purposes - (others, but I do not know the full list) (do correct me if I made any errors) Edited January 16, 2008 by Hunter Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You may if deemed suitable by the FLO, have a .50 for hunting, but theres not a chance in hell of getting that approved for any hunting here. Though, you may own a .50 for big game use, in say Africa. (your Certificate will state these restrictions if approved). But to the Guidlines, no you wont find much above .357 with the option for hunting uses, as generally, any larger cal may be assumed unsuitable for that purpose.
