thinking of giving it up

I used to love informal HFT and plinking with my Weihrauch. However I havent really done any shooting for 4 months now as my health isn't up to it at the moment. Money is tight and as much as I love my Weihrauch, they cash from it would be rather useful as I am moving counties at the moment.

I was thinking of selling and perhaps purchasing a CO2 pistol for when the money is more avaliable; for informal plinking as it would be a lot easier to find somewhere suitable just for that.

As much as I realise that having the Weihrauch will be a good thing for when health allows more shooting; it is unlikely that is going to magically happen in the next 12 months so: There is not much persuading me to keep it. Unless anyone else has a sugestion?

Included some photos from when it was brand new:

Sad to hear that mate. I remember along time ago when i was just married i had to give up CB as I was admittedly using super side band and got caught by the DTi. I had all my equipment which i had saved up for taken away, banned from using any radio equipment for 5 years. I have no problems in saying i sat down and blubbed my eyes out that night, but, i also vowed i would, one day do it properly and get my HAM license the right way. 10 years later i have it.

Try and stick with it. If you cant things will pick up. I promise you.

I admit it would be a pain to buy back again, given it was bought pre-VCR mail order it would likely cost more to buy face to face.

It has amazing groupings (sub 1/2" MOA possible when I was better); I had wanted a Weihrauch 95 series since I was about 15 as they were just "perfect" springers in my opinion. I love the dark hardwood stock with its deep checkering, seemless smooth cocking and the lack of the nasty "twang" you get with the cheaper airguns. Not to mention if I ever get the cash to join minsterley then I would like to be able to shoot something I could call my own.

Even when health/money improves to allow for shooting actual firearms; don't think I will get cert if West Mercia is as nasty over it as Staffs; one of their sticking points over SGC was the fact I was on "strong" opioids (though very low doses.) As I have said before, never had any probs relating to safety when shooting and medical opinion/DVLA say I'm fit to drive.

Though Staffs FEO's are content their info source on the subject is a better authority: Which a subject access request found to be an illegal online pharmacy selling drugs (inc opioids) without prescription. They werent even basing on the info on the same meds as I was taking.

A fine Mickey Mouse operation if you ask me... Suspose it doesn't matter now but didn't like being treated that way and will mean more work for me in the future I suspose.

Still give it 18 months or so and witnessed safe shooting conduct at Minsterley should hopefully prove them wrong.

Regards,
