oneshotkiller
i;m considering buying the sporter baikal with the vented barrells and multichokes , ive used one of their fixed choke models for rough shooting and find it light and well fitted but i've been told too avoid these like the plauge , so i;m asking for a honest opinion on here this is gonna be my first shottie so don't wanna waste my money and £400 is my budget

tazkb
I have owned the baikal you are talking about but i sold it recently to a guy of here i did like it but the barrels where too long for my taste, it was a good gun mind a bit rough and ready but built to last a lifetime

Zapp
Just to muddy the waters a bit, I will speak out in favour of the new baikals! Agreed that bettinsolis are nicer guns (though overdecorated IMHO), as are lanbers which come at a similar price second hand (I have one, cracking gun), but the new baikals are actually damn good guns. My brother in law shoots one and I cant find any major faults with it. If I was being picky, I would say that it is a little muzzle-heavy, and the stock could be an inch or so longer, but other than that it is great. Any being a baikal you know that you could beat a tank to death with it and it wont have a scratch! Zapp
