stevethefish
Hi, here's one to give you a giggle, I was shooting earlier today and while driving into a suitable shooting position on the stubble stalking a few rabbits I drove into what looked a small puddle. It turned out to be the worst mistake I had made for a while. As I drove into the water it was fine and all of a sudden the wheels just dropped and I was in the preverbial. After a while and some cursing I phoned my friendly farmer, his son came out first in a landy and finished up bogged down too. He phoned his dad who came out in the large teleporter and guess what, he got stuck too. Back to the farm for the big tractor and we were all rescued in a matter of minutes. The moral of the story is make sure you have means to escape the situation if it arises, I will be now looking to acquire a winch for my TD5. Thanks to my rescuers but a lesson learned pic attatched

stevethefish
Yes good chap the farmer is, I asked him what I owed him for getting me out and he wouldn't take anything he just said "keep shooting the rabbits" how's that for hospitality? It took me 2 hours to pressure wash and clean the old bus today, looks as good as new now. Bet it would have dissapeared if it hadn't rest on the underside of the car. Sundowner
Just in case it happens again mate ................. If you can rig a mast I have an ol' mainsail and foresail in the garage. On second thoughts maybe if you get an outboard ???? Seriously, I hope it don't happen to me
stevethefish
Lesson learned I think, never had a problem before just shows they aren't all terrain vehicles. My mate has a 4 litre Jeep with a big lift job, upgraded massive off road tyres and he dosn't seem to have a problem! AH WELL.
