triscrx
Do you think the fact that I still have another week or so til my FAC is here yet is an issue as this is my new baby?? Goalkeeper The 30mm GAU-8/A Gatling Gun fires at 4,200rpm from a 1,200rnd magazine and can engage targets out to about 2,000m, In automatic mode the radar limits itself to targets within a 2-7km range bracket with target speeds of 150m/sec or more. Reaction time against a Mach 2 sea-skimming missile from automatic detection to IFF interrogation, 90 degree tracker slew, tracker elevation, X-band lock-on and computer run-in is claimed to be about 5.5 seconds with the engagement starting at 1,500m and ending with a kill by 300m. I will be joining my next unit after completing various maintainers course's and this will be my new baby. Looking forward to it loads

EMT
Triscrx, At least the Goalkepper works, not like the Phalanx we used to have on type 42's (HMS Cardiff etc) now that was a piece of junk. Have you got your draft through yet ? EMT
Baldrick
The Phalanx was a puny piece of junk, particularly compared to the Goalkeeper. I only got to watch the Goalkeeper in action a few times, when I was in the Mob, but it was a memorable sight (and sound).
