Si-Bore
I have heard a few people say that the more recent Beretta's are not the same quality as older models i.e. not as strong or as likely to last. Is this true or false? Cheers Si
pin
Define "more recent" and "older"
Si-Bore
I'm not sure really as I have just heard the discussion without dates linked to it. I'd say older than 15 years compared to last few years? That was a guess........ Si
tweedledee
i think the 30 series made beretta lots still going strong today.many refinements made not always for the best.im sure the latter will last the same.i prefer the handling of the older ones though.heavier built i think
berettaman1
I have used Beretta 301, 303, 390, and 391 Urika , ser, 1 and 2. I used to shoot 200 shells a week on average, The only Beretta Auto I had any trouble with was the 390 model. It was swiftly removed from the GMK catalog, for the first time that model was the only one that gave trouble, I had trigger parts , and the metal rod that compressed the recoil spring used to fracture, although Beretta suplied a beefed up replacement rod, the model was soon discontinued. The early 300 +series (Excluding the 390, ) are excellent, Having said that the latest 391 Urika, and Teknis jobs are just as good in build quality as the early models."Buy one they are excellent"
BlaserF3
I personally think that the 682 Gold was the last decent model in the 68 series. The newer ones with the nickel finish look awful to me,they look tarted up. The optima barrels are far too light also you need 32" to get a balanced gun but it still feels "waffy" to me. Two friends of mine each bought a 682E two years ago,one of them exchanged it for a DT10 and the other one bought a Browning trap gun after having owned them only for a short while.they just could not get on with them. I used to have a Teknys which I did not like and sold it to a mate, the nickel started flaking off the action but because I had registered it with GMK for a 10 year warranty they replaced the complete gun except for the barrel which I though was good of them. I bought an Urika 2 in December, fitted the recoil reducer in the butt and a gel tek pad on it and it's a brilliant gun to shoot as I tend to suffer from the affects of recoil but it's very soft on the shoulder and I prefer a black receiver, it looks more like a gun to me. njc110381
I'd be tempted to say that almost every gun maker, car maker, and virtually all manufacturers of anything do a poorer job than they used to. Once a reputation for quality is gained they seem to drop off and cut corners to make more profit
pin
It's a funny thing to say about Beretta though, them being the oldest corporation in the world they have seen fads and new technologies come and go over the years.
