Salop Matt
Hay folks well after a thoughly enjoyable morning clay shooting yesterday we got back to the car to find we had gained considerbly more mud than we arrived with ! Just spent 10 mins cleaning the gun slip and thought how usefull it might be to have one of these stands i keep seeing at clay grounds, only thing is where do people buy these from ? or is it infact from a golf shop and self modified to hold the gun slip ? they look almost like a tri-pod and hold the slip on a angle ! I know some may think it a bit of a girly accessory and i used to aswell but now can see benifits to them !

Chard
I guess am just being a tart then ! lol You slapper Yellow Bear, who posts on here, has a chrome-plated number that sticks into the ground with his gun slip on it. It's not a tripod, it's just a spike with attachments. Don't know where he got it, he might have knocked it up himself I expect he'll enlighten you when he comes on later. I can't personally be ***** carrying clutter around I even leave the gun slip in the car and carry my gun round broken Some people keep telling me that I shouldn't get my gun so wet but I say it's going to get wet anyway, when I shoot the *******, unless I fire it in a gunslip  Edited March 31, 2008 by Chard
Salop Matt
The reason i carry my gun in the slip other than being seen to be safe is also because i once whitnessed a peice of broken clay hit the stock of a very nice gun a chap was carrying on his shoulder (broken) ! The language was colourfull and i dont fancy being in a simlar situation myself. but yes one of the spike designs would suit to, its just finging one ! I may have to butcher a golf bag as yet ! Yellow Bear
As Chard said I have one of these - got sick of cleaning off the mud and not keen on carrying the gun unslipped, Trouble is I don't know where to buy one - I got it from one of the guys at the club and he bought them half a dozen at a time from someone in the midlands Basically it is a telescopic bank stick with a kick bar and a flat plate at the top where the strap goes. Another option I have seen is a modified golf trolly - 2 guns and all the ammo<G> Bear Edited March 31, 2008 by Yellow Bear
