If it has done it once, it will do it again, I would get it checked out by a gunsmith.

I'd get it looked at. I don't understand how a guns interals work, but if something isn't right I wouldn't use it again until it's been checked out. Maybe the recoil from the first shot released the hammer on the second barrel? If so, would it do the same if you knocked it on something as you were walking, or dropped it? You see where I'm coming from? get it sorted ASAP

It happened to me once with a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon. It happened when I closed the gun after loading. Fortunately (as always) I was in a cage with the gun pointing down range, but it made me jump. Also, as the gun wasn't mounted, the recoil rammed the locking lever (whatever it's called :D ) into the skin between my thumb and forefinger

Get it checked out, my barrel selector/safety catch spring dropped off inside my Lanber 6 weeks ago, I had double barrel discharges and had difficulty in firing a shot with a single pull of the trigger, would take 2 pulls. Got it fixed free under warrenty as there is apparently an inherrent problem with them, sorted now though. If your gun is out of warrenty, it will cost about 20 quid to get fixed. Half an hour work...

Some of these Continental made O/Unders will double discharge if, when waiting to fire the shooter starts clicking the barrel selector to top or bottom before he fires, often when in very cold weather, I have witnessed it on a few occasions over the las 15 years. I think sometimes the cold weather makes the internal lubrication thicken up, and cause both sears to disengage together....Before spending a lot of dosh, and time taking it in, try what I said, making sure you are in a place safe to do so, load/close the action click the selector, fire,..and see if it reacurs..?.

You should be worried when you have 2 3'' magnums do that to your shoulder at the same time rather than poxy little 28g.

Oh, and get it checked out by a gunsmith. :D

FM

I have a S/S 10 G that if you pull the back trigger first you get a double discharge for Geese, 2X 50 grms! Starlight calls it my family shot

it has been known to happen by mistake once or twice
