Pike
If you are one of those people I stand next to in Essex gun who works along the lines of "hushpowers are like taking a lump of down pipe out shooting" and "if you use fibre wad carts you may as well leave the gun and throw them" take note. I have been out shooting in the week with a friend over freshly cut stubbles. We both used Hushpower single 12's, over thirty real decoys and a magnet. We started at six and had thirty birds in the bag by eight. I ran out of shells at mid-day and had to tear home for more. And - as much as I hate reducing a good day to a figure - we had 213 birds for 400 cartridges! Best day I have ever had but I can still see pigeons when I close my eyes! Probably the best bit was birds were landing in the next field and not even lifting as shots were fired, I even had a few birds come in as I took a bird in the air. Hushpowers - they have their place. Pike

Cranfield
webber, I bought a Hushpower single barrelled 12 bore about 10 years ago to use around a farmyard, where the noise was an issue, but the ferals rarely sat still long enough, for me to use an air rifle. Unlike Pike, I couldn't get use to the different barrel sizing, no matter how long I tried. I even took it to a sporting clay layout, to try to get accustomed to it, but everything failed. I also found the one shot facility to be a handicap. The gun was sold within a year. My advice is to borrow one and try it, before you buy. It is certainly very different than anything else I have fired.
