wheat drillings

I set off early Saturday morning to give a recently drilled field of linseed that for some unknown reason was being battered by a couple of hundred pigeons.

Never usually shoot over linseed but I set up my stall and after 2 hours I had shot only 14 and 2 blackies.

Alan and the boys came and joined me to see how I was doing; just as I had packed up.

He asked if I was going to go mooching but I had to decline as I was going to the C.C.F.C v Wolves game as it was a very important game for the club.(and me) AVID fan for 45 years.

They decided to set up on some wheat drillings and I got the call late Saturday night that they had shot 87 and packed up at 3.00pm to save some for me on Sunday.

GOOD LADS. :yahoo:

We went out Sunday and at first only Alan & myself were shooting and the boys joined us a couple of hours later.

We all shot steadily,Alan and myself had shot 57 and the boys 46.

Total for the weekend 204.

Got all the gear back to the fence just as it started to rain. I ran up the field to get the jeep and managed to get all the gear into the motor and one of the boys spotted I had a rear FLAT *****y tyre.

NIGHTMARE!!!!!!! 3 fields away from the road and on soft grassand Hissing it down.

No way could we jack it up there so I had to crawl across the fields in the truck and out onto the lane.

Then, couldn't find the special bar for the wheel nuts in the housing so had to empty the back of the jeep onto the road.

WELLLLLLL , I never realised how much stuff I carry every week in the truck. Batteries, netting bag, pole bag, magnet, flapper box,24 pigeon deeks,12 crow deeks, cartridge bag and box,3 batteries, hide seat, tools, warning triangle dog cage and dog etc.

ALL emptied onto the side of the road. Lifts up the floor mat and NO bloody hidden compartment.

Finds it back in the original bag. who looked in there?:yahoo:??

Gets the spare sorted (cheers Al) and finally makes our way home.

Sounds like a tin of tyre weld moment.

Being an advocate(!) of this stuff, does it actually work? Would you trust it as a permanent cure? I ask because I average one puncture around every third foxing trip, I even carry a 12v compressor that usually gets get me home.
