Painting Shell Crow Decoys -What Paint ?

I have done a search and all the repainting decoy posts are for pigeon decoys. Can anybody recommend a decent paint for Crow decoys, so that they look more natural and don't shine in the sun. I have seen flocking kits also, are these any good.

Thanks

Cheers again lads,

Bought some blackboard paint in a spray can. Resprayed the 5 crow deeks and also 2 half shell pigeons (came up really well), they look like jackies from a distance. Went out this morning and they worked well.

I sprayed my ruger 10/22 with plasikote extreme heat black (the stuff for spraying fires etc. It dries to a really dull matt finish very quickly. I've thought about giving the crow decoys a squirt. Got mine from Homebase.

I use similar on hide poles and magnet arms to ensure no shine is given in sunlight. Works well and is tough to boot.

I like the idea of the sawdust though, like flocking only cheaper

Why matt non shine? Take a look at black stuff in the field on a sunny day...they shine like a smile! Personally I'd say it's not necessary on black stuff to go matt. But then again how much of our decoying is designed to please the human eye and not the birds?

My deeks were fairly faded and shined a bit too much in the sun. When I left them out and added a few dead birds they started to look really unnatural. After spraying them they shine a lot less, and when mixed with dead birds they do look a lot more natural now. Also just having the one permission and giving them a bit of a bashing they are not easily decoyed anymore !.
