Blackbart
As its on a 223 i presume its for charlie,so if it was me i would opt for a bit more mag,as a fox thats 200 yrds away will still be small at 6x imo

Mungler
Mosa, this one has been done before recently. The clear answer was S&B 8x56. Top glass. If you want to spend a lot more and get marginally better then Swarovski are very beautiful things to look through.

This may have been answered elsewhere, but what is the difference in quality between a German assembled S&B scope and a Hungarian assembled S&B scope, the difference in price on the 8x56 is £160.00 http://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/products.asp?cat=
Hodmedod.one
Mosa, this one has been done before recently. The clear answer was S&B 8x56. Top glass. If you want to spend a lot more and get marginally better then Swarovski are very beautiful things to look through. For a few weeks last year I had both S+B and Swarovski 8x56's. I would say that the optics were of equal quality, but the design and build quality of the S+B would get my vote. If you want to get into serious long-range foxing the reticle is too fat on both of them. Mr Foxes head disappears behind it. That is why I bought a Nightforce and will soon be advertising my mint condition 8x56 S+B for sale.

I would say Chris it depends on your eyesight and whether you intend to shoot mainly in daylight hours .Personally I find the no7 cross air excellent at night even for 200yds but too thick for regular daylight use

I have previously owned S&B's in 6x42 and 8x56, to my eyes (the important bit) the definitely Swaro's have the edge.
