It should not be too hard to be honest. I did something similar (a winch for wakeskating - long story) a year or so ago and as long as you can weld and tighten bolts, you can do just about anything.

I have a load of links somewhere for various karting supply shops if you need them...

By the way, are you going for an automatic clutch or a torque converter?

I am going for a torque convertor, but need to find something for the steering, i was planning on getting the front axle out of a mini etc and cut it down.

Wookie could you send me some links??

martinmoreton did it look anything like a metro by any chance :good:???

I can't find the others right now, but it should not be too hard to dig them out.

I'm assuming you're going for a TAV2... What horsepower engine are you going/have you gone for?

Good point, or at the very least a roll bar that's going to protect your head.

Can you not just re-invent a quad? That design looks a little low on the ground for shooting from.

And it needs lots of lights.... And Neon

I'm seriously looking at a road-legal Quad... I live about five minutes away from my permission and about 10 minutes away from work. One of those would be perfect for me and I could miss the traffic by nipping across fields.

Yep, so am I. I think that for shooting you need the height that a quad gives you for better distance vision. What model do you have in mind?

Theres a chap who lives next door to my girl friend who has 2, you see him zoom off and then about half hour later he comes back covered head to toe in mud. ive had a go on the farmers agricultural quads and they were great fun allthough it only reached 45mph ( over bumpy ground it felt a LOT faster ! ) it was a petrol not sure of engine size ( 600 cc maybe ? ) with 5 gears. i can honestly say my shooting session quickly turned into a "fastest lap session" could that be the reason the farmer hasnt suggested it to me again

That's the sort of thing I want to avoid, but doubling my fuel economy by taking one of these to work would be great. Not so great would be having to take the main road in something that was a little... "chuggy" shall we say.

That said, buying a "race" quad and trying mounting a shooting rack on it would look dodgy too.

Choices, choices.

Isn't that what the Banana bunch drove around in the opening titles back in the late 60's early 70's (they @BB@ were a cross between thr wombles and the teletubbies for you younger ones around)
