Marc M
The missus and I have recently tried clay shooting, and must admit we're both hooked! I've shot and hunted with air rifles for over 10 years and have always wanted to do the same with shotguns, but I feel it's prudent to get the practise at the clay ground before going rough shooting. So, we both have our SGC application forms in, and are in need of a police approved gunsafe. After recommendation we've looked at the Brattonsound range, specifically the 6/7 gun cabinet with locking top shelf, but before splashing out £140 on a new one, I thought I'd ask on here to see whether anyone had one for sale (or similar sized cabinet). Cash waiting, based in East Lancs and can collect. Contact me by email on marc@NOSPAMliberationevents.com (removing the NOSPAM part), or on my mobile 07960 816525 Hope you can help, Marc
wabbitbosher
Hello , you may have trouble finding a gun safe second hand if you do it might not reach the requirements of your firearms officer, Firstly do you need a locking top box? check again with your firearms officer or firearms unit , some areas you only need to store your cartridges in a "safe" place also try D.J.S Products 0800 5877730 ph@pbarrett.fsnet.co.uk (as seen in sporting gun) He is very reasnoble indeed and they are delivered to your door Hope you get one in the end and "enjoy your shooting" WB
Guest Mr Pieman
That was my question too - why do you want a locking top shelf? PP
rifleman56
yes you only need a top locking cabinet if you have to put ammo in it (bullets)
highdowns hunter
Just a little tip, when buying a new cabinet, make sure that the seams are fully welded. and not just tack welded. This is not law but my firearms officer mentioned it to me last time he called round.

Marc M
Cheers for the tips lads, I took your advice and gave the Lancs firearms team a call and they confirmed I don't need one of the locking top gunsafes, the gun only jobbie is all they require (for shotguns). Mustn'y grumble, that call saved me around £30!! Got a couple of leads to follow up, many thanks to Graeme who called me yesterday (will be coming back to you for another price mate ) and will hopefully have my cabinet by next weekend. Once again, thanks. Marc
