rlewis
I have got mine own shotgun and it is being held at my uncles house and every time i go is when he goes but iam thinking of getting a certifcate. But i am stuck on the paper work because it says where it will be kept, and it could be at 2 places (gun club, uncles house) or could it be at my house also could i take from my safe in my house to the gunclub or is it illegal and what would the advantages of havin a certifcate. magman
You cannot own a shotgun unless you have a certificate and are 15 years of age or older . END OF
stokie
You may have paid for the gun but legally it belongs to your uncle If you are granted a certificate and you are of age then you can take the gun where ever you want. Until such time it must remain in the presence of your uncle or any other cerificate holder.
2shots
If you are old enough to hold a shotgun certificate yourself without supervision. then On the application form put at my home address in a police approved cabinet,if your applying now,I would put a cabinet in at the same time, it saves time when they come to check you out. if it is granted then you can transfer your gun onto your new licence from your uncles and inform the police within 7 days. The gun can then stay with you locked in your cabinet at home until you want to use it,your allowed to take it to clubs etc yourself, you do not need to go with your uncle or have to put it down as stored at the club or your uncles. The advantage of having your own licence means you do not have to go with your uncle or anyone else you can go yourself. Errr, NO! Get a cabinet, apply for a certificate and you're sorted. Let us know if you're struggling with some of the longer words.

Ah man you cant have access to your uncle's cabinet without a SG certificate and that his guns are named on your certificate. I know you come on here to find out stuff but there is simple guides out there that will help you out. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...showtopic=55287 Df
