i would imagine that alot of u have the same problem as me, where i shoot is exspecially bad. We have many fields of wheat, rape and barley all in quite close proximity, quite often they lift and dont come back cause its safer somwhere else (obviously) but there must be ways to scare or keep them off the other fields and to channel them towards mine?

Have herd of a few ideas, but not to sure on them? Any suggestions!

Thanks

When the birds are on the move like this, I believe you have to move with them.

I travel very light with just a couple of floaters/bouncers, a cammo net suit (incl important face mask) and set up where I see birds.

When they move off, I go and look for some more elsewhere.

Walking hedgerows and wood edges can also be productive late morning and late afternoon, when the birds are digesting, or resting up between feeds.

Stick me in one of the fields they are hammering and you in another one. :o

FM :D

The best idea yet  if the pigeons just move on and youve set your hide

youll find two people better than one and 3 or four even better to keep them

moving, all set up in a triangle or square around the fields  :lol:

  • 2 weeks later...

Cut the handles of plastic carrier bags, easier to tie onto things such as a branch, post, wire fence, stick or even the crop itself ?

More movement than a balloon, more noise than a balloon, self inflate in a breeze.

If you want to keep a field clear while you sit in the next one keep back a shot Pigeon (freezer) you have the breast meat from & place it belly up with a Falcon deek when you next go out.

It may work to pull in crows but It should keep Pigeon away.

Will they go to your plot though ?
