tosspot
Never ever lend your Rapid 17 MFR to your father in law and expect it back not broken

Markio
Why would anyone hand you back a broken gun? Related or not, I'd bury it and leave the country.

Mungler
I have heard of this happening with 2 maybe 3 and just thought 4 was urban legend. He must be pleased with the achievment.
tweedledee
i too own a rapid, everyone rants and raves about them being the best there is. THEY ARE`NT. they are good but still have fundamental problems that have been there from the start.i.e leaking buddy bottles, splitting o rings and possibility of sticking a few up the spout if you don`t watch what you are doing. hw100 in 12 ft lb much better gun imo you can`t double load.i feel sorry for you mate you will have a chore getting it sorted good luck
tosspot
Gottem out quite quick once the appropriate tool was made, cleaning rod with a cut down screw tacked on it then gingerly thread up the removed barrel hit stuck pellet couple of clockwise twists then extract. and yes i agree Rapids are not the be all and end all in the world of PCP but they come mighty close I've owned, shot or borrowed many marques and models and yes the HW is a very good gun as are pretty much all the Daystate range, but for me at the moment the MFR Mk2 is the muts nuts, TP
ferretman
the mk1 is the best.
Biffo1262
Just as a matter of interest is your father in law an experienced air gunner and if so did he not realise he had a problem? SIX pellets is taking the mickey. With any of my guns it's damned obvious when ONE hasn't left the barrel as certainly the 2nd pellet is very telling! Tell him it cost a fortune to put right at a gunsmiths and watch his face. Don't let him off the hook too easily, make him sweat as it's got to be worth a few drinks in the pub

The upshot is he's bought a nice AA410 complete outfit now, very nice indeed, which i hope to relieve him of in a couple of months for a pittance
