new to the flock
I am thinking of a whippet X Berdie. What are your thoughts and opinions, and would you like to see something else in the mix? NTTF

Huntinlass
I have a greyhound cross bearded collie. She is great off the lead, easy to train. I think its the collie in her that has made her a controlable dog. She will only run on command, that little special word is all it takes She will look but won't touch unless told to do so. She is a good runner when she has got fit (until harvest she can't do alot) She would also retrieve. Speady and turns really well. lovely to see her at her best. I have had a whippet cross before and found that he was a yapper not good if you want more than one run!! Whippet cross get of the mark quickly so when it come to the ferreting it might be a good idea Good luck in your search
lurcherboy
Where you are and with your ability to train a dog properly I would suggest a collie. More than fast enough when near the nets and able to take the cold weather LB
Paul in North Lincs.
Where you are and with your ability to train a dog properly I would suggest a collie. More than fast enough when near the nets and able to take the cold weather LB not a bad idea that................at least it will have the common sence to learn to work a rabbit to a long net........and plough straight into as alot of lurchers / sighthound will do......where you are a wippet cross may not fair that well insub zero temperatures..... Kelpie x grey would also make a good hardy cross...or grey whippet x wheaton terrier
larson
my mate took his collie with us one time when we were ferreting and it just could not catch the runners... i would deffenatly have a dog with collie in and maybe cross whippet
