Introducing Myself

Just a quick introduction and to say thanks,

I have been around the forum, being one of the 'guest' readers listed at the bottom for a while. Deceided that it was time to say Hello and thanks to all the people on here that have helped with advice for me without realising they were doing it......Just reading lots of the posts on here I have picked up a wealth of information.

I am in ''Sunny'' Devon, relativley new to pigeon shooting. I regularly beat on a small pheasant syndicate locally and some shooting when invited.

All my shooting is with the permission of SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) as its her dad i go shooting with and one of his guns i have the use off. I hold a SGC but not my own shotgun. As i am sure you will understand when her dad is likely to be sitting in a hide with a loaded shotty next to me our arguments are one sided and short!!

As i read in somebodys recent post: Pigeon decoying is now taking on too much of my time....what pattern should i have used, would a magnet/flapper of helped there...did i set the pattern too close to the hide?....etc etc... even driving down the road watching for flight lines :good:

I even went back to some old beating grounds from my youth looking at flight lines and crops, stopped and talked to a local farmer and asked about pigeon hitting his crops.....number left so i will carry on looking.

As a quick question, if driving around, and somebody is decoying is it polite to stop and talk either to walk into the field or is it socially frowned upon? or do you leave alone and only talk when meeting in a gateway?

Thanks again everyone, i know other people read the site but dont always register to say thanks
