hi all,

have to do this as paul invited me out and tbh it was one of the best trips ive been on for a while and he tought me a good few good things,i will start the story.

posted on the meet section as i have done since before i was driving, this time i was driving and my intentions where to help some one who didnt drive like my self a few weeks a go,and go halfs on petrol and go door knocking to get our own shoot.

i also wanted to get into pest control of help a fox shooter out.

p-a-s posted on my post and he was the kind of person i wanted to meet to be honest,he had the guns,he does pest control,so perfect person for me to learn off,he will denie teaching me any thing as thats the kind of nice guy he is  ,he actually tought me a lot which im grate full for.

heres the story.

so p-a-s posts on my post so i pm him and he replies,we exchanged numbers instantly and msn,he had not been using msn and ended up getting his msn on and chatting with me.

i got to say this,he read me like a book and even down to dogs he thought i might of owned.

any way,he invites me out on tuesday 5pm on the dot "i hate letting people down".

i was thinking that p-a-s is locations a bit far to go and i was a bit paranoid as we had arranged to meet so quick,to be honest i was un comfertable and was thinking that i should call and cancel but i didnt.

im quite fronty when i want to be and im the kind of lad that if you was my mate and 5 people where going to knock you out,i would back you all the way!!!!

any way,i write all directions and what not down and i was eager to get out,"p-a-s has a few nice toys  " and i left about 2hour before our arranged time,i was to meet at a pub and was a bit worried to be honest but i will explain later.

so im on route and i get to burton, forgot my directions writen down and pulled into a local shop to find out what local pubs names where "he didnt tell me there well known in burton for brewerys and have 3-5 pubs on most rds lol",

any way a quick call get me on track and i get to him,his out side the pub and i drive in the car park and we have a chat,i knew straight away i was in no danger at all and infact his house is next to the pub  .

he introduces me to mrs "very nice lady" and i had not choice about saying hi to thee dog "what a nice clever dog she is",

any way into the garden and a mooch at the ferrets, got to say "p-a-s is very self efficent and its how i would like to be" he has his own veg, meat onions, carrots, patatoes and his meat "made me think how much ive missed out, living in this crappy city"..

he showed me how he controlled the dog,he can get the dog to go with out even speaking aand get her to stop "if only my dog was so clever!!.

any way,he gets guns ready and were off,

1st place industrial area, loads of bunnys about,we was shooting from his land rover, some thing i had never experienced before and really enjoyed,we left with i think around 3-4 bunnys, could of took pigeons and magpies but thats not what he shoots on that bit of land.

next up was a farm and out come the 17hmr :hmm: oh yes,my eyes lit up,never had oppertunity to have hands on with a gun like this and "IM REALLY GRATE FULL THAT HE GAVE ME THE OPPERTUNITY",not sure on the make but i know he also has a cz and a open license so he can have what ever he wish's really, exactly how i would like to be in a few years!

any way i thinks it was 3 bunnys that fell to the 17hmr and to be totally honest with you i burst out loughing each shot as the sheeerr power was nothing id seen before, you think 177 airguns ok?you aint seen nothing!!

one bunny jumped about 3 foot in the air stone dead and another done about 5 360s,well he did that many he looked like he was body popping and ended up in another field some where,"put it this way he went that far we couldnt find him"!! on that note i must say we did try hard to find him and he was the only one we did not find but with out doubt he was dead.

all threw the night i was loughing,p-a-s is one of these lads that love the crack, may be he will tell you the time he shot one bunny and the other come over to him!! **** just thinking about it lol.

any way,the night went so quick, even though ive been shooting a while,i still had not learnt how to gutt and skin proply and he spent the time to show me which i really appreciated..

i did have the intentions of taking a few home to eat but when i said i would put them in the oven he said they will be horrible so i decided not to take any as i didnt have the ingredients to do a cassreole,he did insist i took one but i honestly had nothing to cook them up with,so you know what he did??

he got me some pigeon burgers, remember now,ive not eat stuff like this before and i was thinking oohhwww pigeons   i was eager to try though, and when i got home it was around 2 in morning i put them in fridge for next day.

next day i got them out opened the packet and give the a smell and how yummy the smelt,i did not know he had put his own recipey together, any way i popped them under the grill and my home smelt lovely and just as i put them on the bun p-a-s had cam on msn, talk of the devil im eating your pigeon burger,he goes i put in pork, garlic and herbs and he goes tell me the truth do they taste like **** or what?? just tell me so i can change the ingredients??well?? i said mate, there lovely and my house smells wicked, they were better then any burger i had tasted before "AND I MEAN THAT MATE".

thats my story told but last but not leats.

MATE I KNOW TO YOU IT WAS NOTHING AND YOU FEEL AS IF YOU TAUGHT ME NOTHING,BUT I LEARNT A LOT FROM THAT NIGHT AND I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND OPATIENCE,IM SO GLAD I CAME TO MEET YOU AND I ENJOYED EVERY SECOND OF IT!! AND I MEAN THAT!!

i will speak to you soon so take care and happy hunting

ps why cant every one be like this!!

hi lads,

I could of went on and got into detail but can only type a certain amount of words.

ive been on here a while now, always had a post in the meet section,i know theres loads of locals as it clearly shows how many people have viewed.

i understand there some people that will try nick your shoot and what not but i think every one deserves a chance.

haha, he was telling me about the beet root cake to lol "it was one of them, when you dont know the person that well and you dont want to ask and come across cheeky but he did mention them".

hope fully some of the lads who are miles away from any one on here will read and it will give them a glimmer of hope and they wont give up.

i couldnt of asked for a better night out "honestly" and couldnt of got any one better,

it was around 11 pm and paul goes mart, its up to you mate,if you want to knock it on the head we can get back,or i can take you some where else, now i did think for a sec his had enough but when i thought and looked at him,he was not bothered and was may be thinking i wanted to knock it on the head,i replied if its ok with you mate can we go the next one and he was like,no problem "thats what kind of guy he is"..

just proves in 2 ways really theres good blokes that are willing to help and theres good lads like my self who are willing to listen and learn.

it was all a learning experience and i really enjoyed it.

very nice guy.

take care all and happy hunting

well he tells a wicked story does that martin.as martin said we got to the industrial estate but was a little bit early as employees were still on site and i didnt want to be riding about the estate with air rifles sticking out of the windows so parked up for a while and got talking about shooting and other country related topics,i must say how interested and attentive martin was and how knowledgeable he is for his age.any way the site had gone quiet and most of the employees had left so we got down to business with martin shooting at rabbits on the left hand side and me shooting on the right.there is quite a few rabbits on the estate but they are not easy targets as someone else has been shooting on the estate and to say there skittish is an understatement they come out and just sit nibbling the grass on the edge of a heavily planted border and it was turning dusk so you had to be quick and keep your eyes on the vegetation for movement. any way it was a case of have a shot then wait 15 mins for the rabbits to come back out if no rabbits came back out we moved on to the next grass embankment and waited again we ended up with 4 rabbits from this shoot, not many but as i said its hard shooting.next we went to a secluded old farm house (no longer a farm) that i shoot, ferret, control the moles and rodents etc.again not an easy shoot as most of the rabbit damage is on the drive and back lawn and you have to go through electric gate to get access so any rabbits on the drive have plenty of time as you wait for the gate to open and are soon to ground also the house is surounded by lights that are on a sensor so couldnt shoot on the lawn without lighting the place up like blackpool.i wasnt too concerned as i had made arrangements to ferret the place the next day i just wanted to give martin the most experience i could in 1 night,we did go round the fields but i had just put a new scope and lamp on the hmr but light was bouncing off the mod so i couldnt see very well so martin became the lamp man we ended up with 1 rabbit from this shoot.we then move on to another farm plenty of rabbits but again very skittish 1st sign of the lamp and they was gone we did manage to bag 2 rabbits though.i did offer martin some rabbits and he said he was going to cook them in the oven and was just going to roast them i advised against this as they would be dry and a bit tough in all it was a pleasure meeting martin and i wouldnt hesitate in asking him out again as he seems a decent lad so come on you other lads invite a newbie and share you experience and advice with some one thats not so fortunate.well done martin a good read and you can come with me again.with reference to this =all threw the night i was loughing,p-a-s is one of these lads that love the crack, may be he will tell you the time he shot one bunny and the other come over to him!! **** just thinking about it lol.

i shot a rabbit and 10 mins later its mate came bouncing over to it and started trying to hump it but it didnt get a response(sounds a bit famillier) so hopped off the dead rabbit and fell to my aa410 poor ****** im sure it was his jism on the ground when i de peed him
