well thanks a bunch axe.... would it have kept you awake at night if that thread had run to a couple of posts so that some of the more experienced airgunners here could have explained to me the qualities of each calibre ?

i know i could have searched and probably found out but i was looking for a quick answer and maybe a couple of questions to make my descisions.... i was about to make an offer on a rifle but needed the question answering first .....

**** it ... close this thread too.

its his job to keep the forum clear of useless posts that have been done to death many times, just use the search button, there LOADS of debates over this subject, and even then its only opinion, neither one is superior unless your looking for a dedicated FT rifle which should be a .177, and even then there are .22 classes

now see why it was closed?

if it comes up that often, and im sure it probably does from us newbies, the please, make it a sticky .....

maybe each section should have a newbies faq sticky ....

sorry axe, i know your just doing you part... its just frustrating to ask a question that you want an answer to and it be deemed unworthy...........

I think we should have a sticky of useful info on this, like trajectory for each at 12ft-lbs etc. Maybe it should be left open for all the members to add their views (obviously with all the junk people post about ******* and prossies removed by the mods)?

No offence to the people who add banter, I don't really have an issue with it. It can get a bit OTT when you're trying to get useful info though.

What??? 8 otters is a swear word now. I never knew that

trajectory .... theres anotherthing that'l need explaining in detail....probably been done a million times before too.... i need to know, i wont be the last either....

considering this post has been done to death, theres still alot of opinions/advice come forward.....

i think if youve been a member for a while, you may be sick of answering it....but new members who are experienced, who havent aired their own opinions should not be denied the chance to either just because some old school pw members from the experts click are sick of acknowledging such pathetic questions....

its quite simple really, if you see a thread entiltled 177 or 22 and you cant be doing with it, dont read it...

lets face it, the thread wasnt closed to prevent a clog up of the system.... surley its content must have some value on a shooting forum .... not when weve got such pearls like "whats your favourite jacket potato???"

to be fair, ive had a few threads closed..." done to death" is the phrase that springs to mind.... i just wish these mods had the same enthusiasm about ALL the threads....especially when there are almost identical ones running parallel to the ones they close.......

use your power to create the stickys for the newbs....
