Dunkield
Has anyone ever had one done and later regretted it? All you here is of people having their rifle barrels cut down and never looking back. I had my .223 done and much prefer it now, my .22 is going away this weekend to be done. This is probably my favourite and certainly most used rifle, and despite the fact it couldn't be in safer hands, at the back (the very back) of my mind I am thinking "what if?..." Baldrick
How short did you go on your .22?
Dunkield
I was going to go for 16" just for convenience, but I have spoken to Mike Norris who recommends 14.5"
roger
Got my CZ .22 done at SYSS - chopped to 12.5" just as accurate as it ever was but balance is better, more pointable, it's lighter, feels and looks even better. Well chuffed - no regrets at all 1st class job. Roger
webber
I had my Sako .22 RF finfire shortened to 16" just before our trip to Scotland. I can only say that the chop transformed the rifle for me. It is now noticably lighter, easier to shoot, and most importantly, just as accurate. I wish that I had got it done years ago. webber
Dunkield
So, as before there only seems to be for getting them chopped. You wonder why manufacturers don't just make them short (yes, I know CZ now do a 16")
garyb
Interesting this... My .22lr needs a good amount off it...
Baldrick
I was going to have my .22 CZ chopped to 14", and the .17 HMR chopped to 16". They're not too handy at present.
dunganick
I got the .22 cz chopped to 16" from 21" it made no difference to accuracy, just made my life easier. However the .223 needs the chop when i put a mod on it. And having just got it shooting i am loathed to change anything. You think your worried Stuart, at least your guns shot well to start with! Dunkield
True, but that was my concern, anyway I must have got over it - the barrel was posted off today. I'll let you know how it goes....

tuck1
14inch for me on the CZ. Love it, no regrets, cost 30 quid, haven't found a down side yet. Be brave, my friend and feel the force...
Dunkield
So with all these short shooters around there must be a business opportunity for carbine rifle bags I bought a fairly ropey one at the Game Fair does anyone have any recommendations for decent ones?
