dazz
hi mate there shouldn't be a problem applying for the two rifles.why are you going for the .222 just i once had one and was paying over£20 for rounds so i got rid and got myself a .223.the rounds are half the price(maybe just me been a tight ***).good luck with your application. daz
markbivvy
you need to see your feo . 2 rifles is not a problem, centre fire for deer and fox might be on a first application. dont know how hard your firearms department is, but some people have lots of hoops to jump through. Stig
I've just been granted my FAC for the first time with a .22 rimfire and .17hmr for vermin and .243 for deer. I had good supporting evidence of instruction and letters from 2 mentors for stalking along with copies of lease on land. Pick up the .243 tomorrow
Billy.
Put down for a .17 HMR too, you'll not regret it. I've hardly touched my 22lr and it's steadily rusting up in the cabinet! I got a 22lr, .17HMR and a 22-250 on my first fac application. 500 purchase 1000 own each for the 22lr and .17hmr, and 50 purchase and 100 own for the 22-250. Make sure you put down for vermin for the 22 and the 17 and foxes and deer for the big one, as foxes aren't considered as vermin on an fac. Oh and don't forget to put down for a sound mod and expanding rounds for all your guns. Good luck!

Lloyd90
On my interview for my first application I put down a 22LR and a 17 HMR, the FEO told me I would be allowed a centerfire If I wanted BUT would have to put down a referee ( A mentor to watch over me) Although I have someone I didnt put in for the centerfire lol, although a few months down the line I think I might
scifiden
Had my fac a few weeks ago. Put in for .22 .177hmr .223 & .243. as everyone i spoke to said put in for quite a few as the fao will knock you back & he did on the .223 & .243. So got the .22. & .17hmr and fao said to contact him in 12 months & he will add the .243 so we will see
David BASC
Provided you pass the 'tests' for FAC ownership you should be fine. The tests being: Do you have good reason for the rifle(s) you want? Do you have temperate habits? Are you safe? My guidance to you is that if you are not a member of one of the many shooting organizations already then please join one, that way, if you do have any problems with your application / grant your organization will be there to help you.
