happyshooter
hi guys i was able to nail a rat that had been feeding from fall out from my bird table i got him from 15 yds with my ,25 bsa i left the back door wall light on put out the tin of cheap catfood with holes punched in it, some water put in shake it all up left it out there for a couple of nights let mr rat feel safe then last night sat myself on my shed doorstep a nice cushion to keep the old bones comfortable after 20 mins plus i notice movement from the nearby hedge, out comes mr rat boldly towards the tin i let the condemed rat have a couple of licks then let him have a h&n ftt .25 pellet right in the chest the rat under impact jumped about 2ft in the air the pellet made a real mess of the rat i got a shovel and a piece of wood scraped it up and over the hedge at the top of my garden for my night visiting fox which i feed my rats , mixie bunnies, shotgunned pigeons , next day all gone , i might add gents the top of my garden backs onto a 150 acre field so no problems the farmers just asked me to shoot all his pigeons so a good result there, atvb brian

Lloyd90
Use the catfood to bait the rat for a shot, then use the rat to bait the fox for a shot at him haha! Not an air rifle though!! Not enough power lol

Fatcatsplat
Much the same situation here - We are near the river and fields so get a lot of rats wandering through the gardens - So nice using the kitchen as a hide - Ever so warm and cosy!! TheHunter
Had a family of 4 rats set up near the bird table, over 3 days they all made the mistake of putting their heads above the grass, only one walking wounded (large male) who got 15 yds the other 3 fell on the spot. Rats are such a twitchy quarry it is a good test of skill waiting for the best shot.
