Paul in North Lincs.
A friend of mine bought one from a sunday market for about £20 - new and boxed! !! They are cheap and horrible little guns, and are complete and utter garbage in my opinion. I have seen reports that they shoot at about 9-10ft lb which if correct, would be be enough power to kill small vermin at veryshort range. Personally I agree with cooky, and wouldnt even trying to seriously hunt with one these, I just dont think that they would be consistenly accurate enough to humanely do the job. I'd save it for back yard plinking if I were you, and in the meantime get hold of a more reliable bit of kit. Incidently; my firends B2 i is now residing in the rafters in garage with the rest of the ****t he has acumulated over the years. Paul in North Lincs. SNAKEBITE
Who makes the b2? I have seen a b4 gun advertised is this in the same "series" and if so is it any better?
PTaylor2k4
they are made by chinease prisoners getting a handfull of rice per dozen they make, chiseled out stocks and dodgy internals. Save your money.
Paul in North Lincs.
I understand that they are made by SMK the kings of the cheap 'n' nasty gun world. I do believe it got a good write up in Airgunner magazine some moons ago.....I wonder how much SMK paid Aigunner for that article!!!! Paul in North Lincs. dunganick
Anyone used one of these? It's cheap as f**ck, but will it kill anything? ;-) you could use it as some kind of club and beat the life out of what ever you want to kill........just gota be able to get that close.......good stalking practice
sutty
Ditto all of the above. Stick it in the garden ,barrel first, pin a target to the butt and use it to zero in a decent bit of kit. Or, stalk your quarry close up, fix bayonet and charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just my opinion? Regards Sutty
jim_whitson
Haha yeah, that all sounds about right. Backyard plinking is alright for me for the time being, as I've not got anywhere to shoot yet... But, if i'm gonna spend 100s on a really nice air rifle, I might as well get a cheap second hand shotgun. At least, that's how I see it. Now I just gotta get that damn cert ;-/

Paul in North Lincs.
SB If you ever see one of these nasties you would be able to tell instantly that they are not built to a very high spec: but mass produced with the cheapest materials about. Definately not durable, and definately not buillt to stand the test of time. A good report in a magazine could mean absoluely anything!....it could be 'excellent' at hitting a beer can at 10 foot.......It could be 'excellent' at putting 2 ft grouping in the base of a cardboard box, at 15 yard!!!! Do you get my point?....... Lets say for instance that if you offered to pay me stupid ammounts of money to advertise your product in my popular glossy mag...... I would tell the world anything it wanted to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!! Paul in North Lincs.
SNAKEBITE
Not knocking you mate! It's just that some peoples perceptions can be based on the equipment they have. e.g. If you have a Lada and a BMW then obviously the BMW is better built and higher quality. But that doesn't stop you going to the shops and running the wife around in the Lada. Just don't expect to be doing it in 5 years time or at 70mph! Yes they are poorly made but for someone who is starting out and either not wanting to spend a fortune or not having a fortune they represent a first step on the ladder. I have a Chinese gun and until I have sufficient funds to get another one then that will have to do. At the moment I can get a reasnable grouping at a fair distance. That is all I want at the moment. Later I want a decent rifle but it was either the Chinese gun or nothing.
roblade
ok im going to say this once and once only DONT EVEN GO THERE!!!!!!!!! they are cheap and nasty, and if your lucky 6" groups at 25 yards (i know im talking from experiance!) the only thing they are good for is teaching the basics to those who have never handled a rifle before. i bought my step son one to see how he got on with shooting 1000 pellets latter it litteraly fell to bits. save your money a little more and get a second hand HW, webley or a bsa the quality of even the worst one second hand would beat the B2 hands down. ok i know i said would say it only once but it needs repeating: DONT EVEN GO THERE!!!!!! all the best with yuor first buy ROB
beezer
Back in the ninety's John darling wrote an article in Airguner or the other one, about his hunting with a chinese underlever somewhere in South America, He got a helovalotta doves with it. SNAKEBITE
they are cheap and nasty, and if your lucky 6" groups at 25 yards (i know im talking from experiance!) But from other posts about pellets and finding the right one for your gun you can get a 6" grouping using a quality gun and the "wrong pellet". If they are less accurate than a more expensive gun then pellet choice would be even more crucial. I am not saying you are wrong infact I agree with you in principal but for some (in my case for example) money is the problem. Oh and as for second hand guns I couldn't find any. Been looking for monthe locally and there weren't any. I know I was probably looking in the wrong places but at the time with no contacts "in the game" how was I to know! Paul in North Lincs.
I think we're going a little off topic here. The most expensive pellets inthe world are going to make alot of difference to the performance of the b2. They are junk, and you can pick up a secondhand webley, bsa, or HW as roblade writely explained for probably the same price a a new b2! decent s/h guns are floatting around everywhere; just need to keep your eyes open Paul in North Lincs
roblade
check out the local free adds (big yellow paper with lots of things for sale) or what ever it is called in your part of the world LOL another way to find decent cheap guns is to pop along to your local airgun club or shooting club, there moist the people are willing to let you try out the rifles they have and might even have a club rifle or two you could try. most the time there is normaly at least one rifle up for sale at any one time as well its just a case of putting the pennies where you cant get them until you find something really worth getting. ROB For some reason the Free-ads around here never have air rifles in them (a p.c. policy maybe?). I have looked on the internet for local clubs and all the local ones are .22 live ranges only!! Oh and just had a look at the "for sale forum" and the guns there are WAY outta my league! Still I'll keep looking
Paul in North Lincs.
I've picked up guns form the oddest places before...... As daft as it sounds, Have a look in the second hand shops, I once picked a cracking HW77 with scope for £60, and sold it the next week for £190! Also look in the ad pages of airgunner and airgun world. If you can get out in the countryside, visit some of those small village shops and view the card adds in the window. I've bought quite alot this way. Good luck Paul in North Lincs.
