Nicky T
I'm lookng to buy some new footwear for when i go Sporting Shooting (as well as maybe the occasional Game Shoot). Any suggestions/recommendations?
GJUK
For both types? - Comfy waterproof walking boots. For clays - casual comfy shoes/anything? just for rough shooting - cheapish comfy hike/walking waterproof boots. My 2p, though I've only been in the hobby for about a month! pair away
this will depend on the surface of the ground ( SG) that you are at week to week , a decent pair of neo-preen wellies is a good idea at the moment , in summer you will get away with trainers on some grounds , when you get realy good you can buy some " SKEET SHOES " Just ask Andy W . Andy W
Ah, my legendary "skeet" shoes, still the talk of the North.

Catamong
I got a nice pair of Danner Hunting boots following a tip on this forum a few months back from TK Max. They were the Jackal GTX Hunting Boots, I think I paid £39.99 for them, they're very lightweight but surprisingly waterproof: http://www.danner.com/category/hunting+boots/bird+hunting.do Cat
fatcontroller
Got a pair of Viper tactical boots two months ago. What a load of S..t . After two outings the stitching came apart, eyelett fell off, boot support bent. Must say I e-mailed Viper and they were quick to reply. They told me the retailer would replace or refund. Wookie
I use a pair of Merrells. Very comfy, good grip, nice and stable when out on the stand or walking around on the farm. Last shoot I went on... I used the cheapest pair of wellies I could find. I hate wellies. I really do. The thing is, I use them for walking the dog now. And on the farm when out shooting. Maybe I should have bought a pair of hunters? Naaaaah. If you can't trust a pair of £6 wellies, what can you trust?
Jim145
I've got a cheap (but comfy) pair of walking boots for when its dry, a pair of Hunter wellies for this time of year. Works well for me. Edited December 7, 2008 by Jim145
