ozzy518
Got up this morning full of eager anticipation of a full days shooting that I had planned. Sarnies were made and the flask was full. Kitted up in my shooting clothes and got the gun from the cabinet. Went outside loaded the landy and moved my other car from the drive so i could get the Landy out. My trusty Defender coughed into life first time as usual as I sat there, turned on the heater. I noticed that my floor mat had slid forward under the accelerator so using the heels of my feet stretched out and dragged it back then.....OWWWW I had pulled something in my back and the pain was awful. Any movement caused a spasm that left me momentarily unable to breathe and made me grunt like a deranged hippo! Very carefully got out of the Landy walked gingerly to the door, grunting as I went, to be met by the wife, who did her best not to laugh. She got my gun from the Landy and put the other car back on the drive. So, my day's over, the only consolation is that I dont have to move far from the keyboard cos I got my flask and sarnies. Newsportshooter
Rest, Ice, Compression & Elevation - get well soon lol Add a few tablets of prescription cocodamol and diclofenac and you'll be laughing in a couple of days. Bloody nightmare when it happends though. If your struggling to take a full breath you've probably pulled an intercostal muscle (the ones between the ribs round your back) shold be fine in a few days... Gordon2008
Sare one! Earlier this year I woke at 5am paralysed from the neck down, absoultely sh1tting it. Wife called NHS 24 and spoke with a quack who assured her/us that it was simply a neck spasm and if I was no better in an hour to call them back. I thought id had a stroke or something (im only early 30`s) and took no comfort in the doctors advice...........however about 20 mins later with my wifes help I sat up in bed (being 15 stone she was knackered) and 10 minutes later I was as right as rain, got up and drove to Glasgow for a meeting. Hopefuly you`l wake in the morning and be sorted! Awe the best Gordon
Greenhunter
Bad luck! Back pain is the pits especially since it always puts the brakes on everything. I've lived with a bad back for 23yrs. Reason I know its 23 - wife was 6mths pregnant with the lad and he was 23 last week! Was in traction for 6 weeks. Just thought I'd cheer you up lol get well soon!
Newsportshooter
Ruptured disc (the one between spine and pelvis....) Got mine trying to be a smart **** whilst skydiving - Fast canopy + millisecond of low intelligence = human body meeting ground at high speed. I landed on my feet, body gave way backwards and I bounced off my **** and onto my hands in front of me (kinda like a cool brakedancing move but with a lot of pain to boot). On the brightside, on another jump, my mate managed to break his femor and crack his head all the way round (he's fine now - albeit he can't hear in one ear)..... The things we do for 'fun'. Although the occasional cocodamol feeling is not that bad a thing. (getting up at 0600 to catch the winter pigeons also does no good whatsoever - but its a necessary evil) Edited December 18, 2008 by Newsportshooter
