Devilishdave
LOL talk about ham fisted. Having said that when I fitted goodridge hoses and carbinloraine pads to mine it tended to lift the back end from time to time Dave
digger
i did something like that on a borowed gsxr600.did a stoppie at the rounabout at the bottom of box hill and as the back came down i must have let off the front brake and turned the bars a bit :*) :*) to make it worse it was in front of lots of people and the bikes owener why the hell is fairing so damn expensive ? still,at least i managed to get my knee down ! Devilishdave
lol been to a few good meats at box hill! Lucky you were ok, I was surprised the guy in the vid is ok!! rb5037
LOL.. Box hill is not the place to practice Used to go there alot when i had the bike (only 20 mins away) and still go there from time to time with the scoob to give some of the bikes a run for their money. Devilishdave
Unfortunately the japs make some pretty good bikes compared to what we turn out!! the new TT600 is suposed to be ok I hear though. Dave

digger
not had the chance to try a triumph but have heard they are a decent bike.the jap pocket rockets are all a bit much of a muchness, none compare sound wise to a ducati thrapping its nuts off, thats what i call music.i try and get to box a few times each summer but as my current bike is scale rep of a ducati 998 may look a tad daft ! my mate is trying to persuade me to buy his xjr 1400 but its like a bloody truck size wise.mind you it pulls like a train (then the wind tries to push you off above 90mph).money is tight so am looking for an ickle 250 or 450.nice to be able to keep up with the sun shine riders on the twisty stuff. rb5037
Digger Go for one of the real pocket rockets and go for a 400 cc import. You can still get the front wheel up and keep up with the big boys on the twisties. Had a '92 sprayed in luckystrike colours about 9 years ago, loved it. digger
nice post rb,thats a nice looking bike.no doubt a bit of tweeking and a few add ons and it would be a real head turner.would love to do a track day on one but the wife has banned me from going to brands unless its for the wsb or bsb.had one low side with her watching there and i am banned forever not complaining too much as it scared the **** out of me and our (then) five year old. kind of put a dampner on hooning it when i saw my daughters face. Devilishdave
Had a few ride outs with guys on 400s and they cant realy keep up with the big boys not even on the twisties the 600 + 1000 corner that well now and go that much faster on the straights........ Not to say a waster on GSXR1K wont get beaten by a deamon on a RS250. Dave
fert
i picked up a vfr4 nc30 last year for 1300 squids.cant get the front end up on it but awsome bike for the money.would post pics.(if only i knew how)
Devilishdave
lots of the NC30s ar restricted and will do about 112 top speed derestricted it should lift the front. It will clutch up atleast. I am off to put a new engine in my zx6 that i blew the week b4 christmas so maybe the wheelies are not so clever after all Dave

Devilishdave
lol you realy have to cover that back brake!! I did somthing similar as a kid on a DR400 as the bike came up i wound it open even more and came off the back fortunately these bikes are designed to get droped and you just pick em up and crack on. Unfortunately the owner was one of the local bad assed bikers and he was watching!! he took it well though to be fair Dave

Fisherman Mike
I came off my 750 Bonni doing a ton & 10 down Blunsdon Hill in Wiltshire in 1984 had just left college and was tanking it to get to the pub. Swerved to avoid a hedgehog of all things got a wobble on and clipped the kerb... Catapulted about 20 feet in the air and landed on my back in a thick hedge which broke my fall completely. Only injury was bruising to the back and a few scratches where the hedging had penetrated my leathers. Bike was smashed up and a driver following who witnessed it was crying her eyes out said she would have bet her house I was dead..... I should have been ! I have never wanted to get on a bike again since and even when I travel the road now in a car I get the shivers big time. FM.

digger
i go to brands and thruxton every year and it always amazes me the amount of one legged bikers who have lost a leg in an accident and had their bikes modded, fair play to them.being realistic i can say i havent had an accident-yet. just hope that when mine comes its a gentle one.mate of mine t-boned a car at the drivers fault.we all encouraged him to get another bike with the payout and he did only for the same thing to happen again a month later. so far ive not had a serious off on the road so now thinking of passing on getting another bike although a mini moto looks good
