I have copied their reply below. webber WD-40 is not water based, it is a water displacer. Basically WD-40 is oil based. I have never heard of WD-40 breaking down solder as the product is not aggressive and only uses a basic type of white spirit as a transport agent for the base oils and then it evaporates off.
