Jimmer
I have a Lightforce 170 scope mounted lamp on my styer with S&B 8x56 and T8 mod. I seem to get terrible glare reflecting off of the moderator on to the objective lense which make the image impossible to look at. I've moved the lamp about 1.5" above the existing mount to try to reduce this but with no success. I've since put a piece of tube above the front of the objective lense which seems to illiminate the glare. The piece of tube extends about 5" from the front of the scope, this is not ideal. I've seen scope sunshades which i guess would do the same job properly but i need one 5" long. Does anyone else have this problem, and or remedies to solve the glare. Any help much appreciated
bobby b
Yea you want a bush muffler to go over the mod you can get one from bushwear.co.uk.
Jimmer
I have a garlands version of the muffler on my mod already. I think the glare comes from the rear of the mod or barrell even though both are a matt finish

Baldrick
As Chris says above, but I also camo tape the back of the mod and the top of the barrel. Works a treat.
Dougy
The lamp i take it your on about? no the scope just try 1/2 inch to start, or if still have a prob a bit more, you will find that it wont affect your view through the scope. i had the same problem. i tried the other suggestions but the tape on the scope was the only remedy
Alpha Mule
I had the same problem (with a different lamp). The only way I found round it was to sling the lamp under the barrel. I have also had to weight the shoulder stock to balance the rifle now. Not sure how keen I am on taping up my scope, but might give it a go. maddog546
I have a similar problem with the 170 on my 223 fitted with a s&b 8x56,but I have found if you adjust the beam of the light down the bleed back is vastly reduced and Charlie is easily taken at 200yds with a nice clear image, try adjusting your light focus point down.
