A few years ago one of the P.W breathren had a fert called Oscar, who it was discovered had a kind of pulling power over crows. By exercising Oscar in the open, while keeping an eye on him from the hedgerow, it was possible to draw the corvids who didn't much go on the idea of sharing their patch with him. Of course, if Oz was being guarded by a 12g the crows could be dispatched. He became something of a hero (at least in my eyes) and was often mentioned in posts that had little or no relevance to the noble sport of ferreting.
