TheHunter
I am thinking of adding a FAC air rifle to ticket and would like to pick your brains as to which calibre to choose. I have a .22lr but want something with a little less power to reduce any ricochet damage done in and around buildings and also safer tree shots but has a little more range than my 12ftlb AAS410. I have been told that using a 30ftlb .22 has the same flat trajectory as the .177 at 12ftlb! Also been told that a FAC .177 just goes through all quarry and out the other side? Your thoughts ? IAN88
i,ve a daystate fac .22 at 30lbs using a heavy grain pellet drop rabbits at 40ish mtrs no probs and i was told that with fac your no aloud to take shots that you require to aim in the air ? may be wrong hope this helps
tweedledee
without a doubt go 22 in fac. the lighter pellet is less air efficient and will drill through. best to have the 22 trotting in with a good whack and transferring the energy.30 ft lbs is a good power setting for fac air. i use mine to shoot vermin out of trees and round farmyards.a job a rimfire could never do
kdubya
fac air @.177 is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, KW
Disco Stu
.22 is probably the best FAC size.

JJaxeman
Theoben Rapid 7 .22 FAC is the way to go
lord_seagrave
Or .25 of course. LS
SNAKEBITE
The reasoning behind the FAC .22 over the .177 is the shots per charge is it not? Trajectory is clouding the issue a little.
peacey
i have a super10 in .22 FAC and for me it's the only calibre to have. I wanted a HW100 in .177 FAC but the tuning guys said don't bother as shot count is poor
LeeinVA
I am a huge fan of the .25.. If not the .25 than go with the .
happyshooter
i agree with the majority on this one .22 or .25 is the way to go in fac, i currently use a rapid mk-1 .22 @40fpe and am changing calibre to .25, all this has occured since a cheap fac springer a .25 webley patriot came my way and the impact and accuracy really impressed me , i am not giving up .22 as a air arms fac s400 extra .22 has just come my way at a good price, atb brian
