I was bullied at school for a number of years, basically up until i left...fighting back doesn't help, i was always told to fight back my father was very strict when it come to tackling bullies, but all fighting back does is cause unwanted attention to yourself, it's difficult trying to cope when your father is always banging on about what a reputation he had for taking no ****, as well as the rest of our family, this starts to make you feel like you have let the side down a bit, and makes you feel weak.

I used to be fighting on the field almost everyday, it made me tough, but wrecked my education, constant worrying and low self esteem, it's funny though how it makes you, i got into so much trouble when i was younger as the fighting everyday at school, and the being on guard all the time, turns you into a non-caring thug in the end, i had to change my ways, otherwise i would never been able to hold a SGC.

it took a good women to calm me down, and having children also calms you down.

Keep your chin up mate, i'm sure you have heard this alot, but many people on here have given good advice, i have bettered some of the biggest ones at my school, the trouble is there is always another wanting to step up to replace them.

All the bullies have grown up, i do still see alot of them around our town, but they usually choose their words very carefully, not sure why after all this time, but they either say Hi now, or nod their head to me...which i like.

Whatever you do i'm sure you will get through this ok, best idea i have seen on here is get a nice Girl, you usually get your time taken up quite well by women, and you'll be forgotten about by the bullies in no time at all.

Best of luck my friend

Rod

Just calm yourself down a bit. These people live to wind you up and if you don't bite they will be upset. Anyone can lose it, just make sure you dont. I have a couple of times and it gains very little.

A guy I know well lost a lot of his young life to a manslaughter charge, all he did was hit a p***ed idiot once and he spent ten years inside for it. What can I say, all he did was "lose it" for a moment because some numpty wound him up. It's really not worth it :birthday:

My lad is 9 and at a school where bullying was quite a big problem awhile back.A group of 3-4 lads were making life a misery for months on end by picking on weaker boys and some of the girls that cried easily.Several parents had reported repeated episode and even written to the board of governers but were fobbed off in one way or another because it does a schools reputation no good if the staff admit to any bullying problems. After 2 parents removed their kids (and sent them to a school with a poorer performance record) i was finally convinced that as my lad is big for his age (and yes he weight trains-i dont encourage him-he just likes doing it)-he might "have a word" with the lads in question (bearing in mind that some are 2 years his senior).Of the 4 that he had a quiet word with only one needed any form of physical persuasion-the others just quit.I have been amazed at the gratitude shown by some parents (and i swear as god is my witness -the headmaster) regarding the outcome of these events-for all the talking and messing around with the "playground buddy" type schemes-all that was needed was one bloody nose.I might as well admit that while i was at school i was a pussy-so he doesnt get it from me.

Good on ya mate :birthday: I laugh in rugby because everyone always start on my best mate the scrum half, I ALWAYs end up running in and smacking someone for him :drinks::balloon:

End of the day that's what mates do and I know he'd do the same If I needed it :yay: Even if you know your going to get a kickin, you don't just stand back whilst your mate gets done over :yay:
