Hi, can anyone let us know where I can go and have a look at an M2, have tried all my local RFD's with no joy and was thinking that there must be a localish shop out there where I can go and get my hands on one.

I'm after a left hander so if anyone has seen one in their travels please let me know.

Many thanks

EB

Thanks for the replies guys.

Watkins I will bear in mind your offer, if I don't get a chance to look at one this week I will be in touch, I really just want to see what the fit is like before I go driving a 100 miles with the intention of buying one.

Thanks again.

I shoot a left hand one. Im either at Gatwick or Horne most weekends gimme a shout if you want to have a butchers.

Thanks for the offer I will bear it in mind, I am interested in seeing what the fit is like as I have heard people say that you have to be a midget to fit one and being 6ft i though it may be an issue.

Anyone got any comments on the fit of an M2?

Thanks

EB

I sold my L/H M2 several months ago, purely because of gun-fit issues. I needed more than the 14.5" LOP on offer, and I did not want to go down the route of modifying the stock. It was a pity, as the gun was superb in every other respect.

Well I took my first 50-odd shots with mine on Saturday. Two rounds of skeet with 28g Rio carts, and then later I got a few shots in the field with Gamebore 30g Super Game Extreme.

I have to say I thought at the time it kicked more than I expected it too, but felt OK. However I was sore the next day. I am pretty sure I was messing up the mount/stance. I had not shot for two months and being pretty new to shotguns I really didn't want to leave it that long, but work got in the way.

So, I have booked a gun-fitting and coaching session on March 31st. If I get out to shoot in between now and then I will take a bit more time to really think about what I am doing.

Well, I am 9 stone, skinny as a rake and never been any different. :hmm:

No bruising at all, but the shoulder was sore to touch. This has happened before with O/U 12 gauge shooting 28g clay loads, but when I shot a 20 gauge O/U on beater's day using 24g loads I could have gone on for hours. I liked it so much I bought the gun. :good:

So, I do think I can deal with this with better technique, but need to be mindful of it as I am clearly somewhat recoil sensitive.

As for the M2, I have read in more than one forum people found that once they got the correct shims fitted they thought the recoil was much better.
