Bingo
I have a freezer full of rabbits and am thinking about what to do with future kills. I have seen previous threads where people have mentioned turning rabbits into sausages, burders etc, what are peoples thoughts - is getting a mincer worthwhile or not? Also have you tried selling rabbits and if so what have your experiences been (i.e. is there a market and how much did you sell them for)? Cheers BINGO

badshot
Local wildlife park buys round here. Frozen, paunched only (still in the fur) 80p each i am told. Must be headshot though so they know when the head is gone so is the bullet. Edited March 22, 2009 by badshot
bruno22rf
I normally sell mine to local pub/restuarants at £1. each gutted-demand by far out strips supply-i seem to recall a butcher in Stoney Stratford (nr,M.K.) putting out an appeal on local radio for rabbits last year as demand was so high! realtreedave
get a mincer mate[not litteraly ]you wont regret it i mix mine with sausage meat[3 rabbits to 1 pack of sausage meat]and onions,my mate makes his with pork belly minced up with the rabbit and garlic.best £20 youl spend as when theyre in burgers or sausages you can convince and convert more people into eating rabbit, hare, squirrel, pigeon or any other game.you also make more use of an animal because you can make use of cuts that would normally be used for dog/ferret food for being too tough/chewy.buy and happy experimenting :( [not with the mincer mate though]
Bingo
Cheers for your advice lads Think I will try to sell some then, do you need any sort of license/ certificate to do this or is it ok to sell them in small quantities? As to the mincer, think i wil invest in one as i am trying to convince my Mrs that rabbit is healthy, organic and credible credit crunch grub Will any mincer do (so to speak ) or is there a specific brand, model that is worth investing in?
