Jan147
Hi Anyone else got a notification this morning in the post regarding the annual inspection charge for gun cabinets that Cheshire Police are bringing in. I could not believe it when I read it! Under ACPO Firearms recommendations they are now requiring people to have their gun cabinet inspected annually at a cost of £10 per visit. The date of the visit can be varied during the year and is not fixed for a particular date in the year. Apparently it is something they are introducing throughout the country but Cheshire are piloting the scheme. Why us? As Cheshire residents are no doubt aware the county has changed with the local council unitary areas as from today and something to do with the changes in local goverment in Cheshire as Cheshire is now split into two new areas - Chester and Cheshire West and Cheshire East instead of the local councils. Anyone else in Cheshire got any thoughts on this?

Nial
Under ACPO Firearms recommendations they are now requiring people to have their gun cabinet inspected annually at a cost of £10 per visit. The date of the visit can be varied during the year and is not fixed for a particular date in the year. The ACPO is actually a private limited company and has no 'official' authority in the UK (as far as I remember). They keep recommending action that results in their members other companies making money, funny enough. Some futher dirt.... http://thejournal.parker-joseph.co.uk/blog...29/3859710.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics...rds-checks.html Nial
