Jan147
Got to go down to London next sat 18th to pick up a exhibition stand I bought for the fishing club. Seemed a good idea when i bought it on ebay. Whilst I have a sat nav for directions, have driven in London so not too scared ! does anyone know the area and whats the parking like? I just need to do a pick up at 9 am. Is it easily accessible or traffic wardens ready to pounce? Or should it be quietish on a saturday? Did think about getting a courier to collect it but would cost too much!
ph5172
If i remember rightly there is on street pay at meter parking just off BW Place, depends where abouts it is you may be able to bump upon the kerb or throw it in a business bay. Beardo
it's a bit of a nightmare - half of it is blocked (pedestrian only) so be careful. If you're coming from the North you'll probably approach it from East Road which is the best way. Bache's Street (which runs off it) has easier parking. I used to run a club night just round the corner.
Newsportshooter
Just a thought but is this area in the congestion charge zone? if so it'll cost you a few quid just to venture in....
RhiannonBW
Take a printed street map with you as a safety net, sat nav doesn't work in some parts of London as the high buildings make the signal bounce around too much. (As we found out when my husband was trying to display the wonders of sat nav to me - I ended up having to jump out at and commit a roadside map to memory!) al4x
what kind of stand is it? if its a collapsible one in a bag then your cheapest option would be to use parcel to go and it won't be much more than a tenner. Otherwise parking in that area is possible
Jan147
Thanks for all your help on this. Got a brilliant deal with DHL on line £14.95 by courier, so not even worth considering driving now but it does mean I can now go fishing on Saturday instead. Good result all round.
