hambone
Just wondering what the ft lbs of a .22 rimfire (subsonic) was in relation to a fac air rifle
Blunderbuss
I think roughly 100 ft/lbs ish (ball park figure depending on brand etc) for a .22LR sub. So about 3 or 4 times the energy of an average FAC air rifle. I think!
SPARKIE
approx 85-90ftlb for subs most fac air rifles run around the 30ftlb mark
Goldfish
90ftlb for most subs For short range/tree/barn use I use CCI CB Longs at 32ftlb - 29 grain bullet instead of an air rifle. Edited April 11, 2009 by Goldfish
luckytrigger
In barns i just use my trusty .22 12ft lb hw97k
peck
this is the link to the Eley hollow point page and it states that at the muzzle ft.lb = 101ft.lb. for an air rifle it will all depend on setup of rifle and weight of pellet. stevethevanman
It has I think 99Ftlbs for winchester subs...I think it says it on the box I will check, but they have a knock to them. Steve
The Burpster
Click on each type then hit the ballistics button. I use CBlongs now instead of FAC air..... Check the ballistics you'll see why. http://www.cci-ammunition.com/ballistics/rimfire.aspx
Goldfish
Click on each type then hit the ballistics button. I use CBlongs now instead of FAC air..... Check the ballistics you'll see why. http://www.cci-ammunition.com/ballistics/rimfire.aspx CB longs and shorts are my replacement for an air rifle too. 20 clicks on the scope and I can move between CBs and subs. http://www.cci-ammunition.com/ballistics/d...spx?loadNo=0038 Upside is that the CBs make less noise than a sub I load 20+ at a time in the mag of a Marlin 39A and an unmoderated gun is quieter than a moderated gun shooting subs.
