  • 1 year later...

Just copied, pasted and edited this from last year. Anyone in the NW who's at a loose end should turn up, shoot the 30 birder, buy some raffle tickets and go home knowing you've done a bit more for charridee  :yes: I think the charity is Claire House a local children's hospice but if I've got that wrong it will be some equally worthy good cause :lol:

Sorry for the lateness of the posting but this is TOMORROW (or today if you don't read this till tomorrow OR you've missed it if you don't read this till Sunday)

I know I'll be seeing Magman & Maglad there and that sandbagger Son of Potter will turn up so keep a close eye on your cartridge bag (he last bought shells in 1998).

Yes indeed, a lovely day and all for a good cause.

Good to see the Mags again and nice to meet Brian28, Mrs B and the pups. Mrs B is quite correct, the previous (last year's) winner of the Junior trophy hadn't returned it and it was obvious that Maglad was over the moon that he'd won the juniors but the shine was definitely taken off when there was no trophy to be presented with. If the organisers get the trophy back they will pass it on but to be honest the moment has passed.

Less said about my shooting the better ?????? It certainly wasn't an easy shoot, 5 stands of 3 report pairs but it was on for a 28 or 29. I had three rounds, 23, 23 & 17 (lost the will to live being 4 down after the first 2 stands) and the shoot was won with a 27, it just wasn't my day and as I still covert that HG trophy I'll have to try even harder next year.

The boy staggered off home with a disproportionately large number of prizes, for winning the pool he got a big trophy (which he will return next year) and a big hamper. He also manged to win A class due to the unique and totally baffling classification system in use (nobody, not even Stephen Hawkins can work it out) and for that he won another big hamper/basket thing full of cleaning/smelly type things donated by Unilever.

Finally as Magman said I had a few wins on the raffle but I still was gutted that I wasn't going home with the Lock, Stock & Barrel trophy.

I took a couple of photos which I'll post tomorrow when the boy shows me how to down-load or up-load or even side-load them.

Till next year

Mr Potter
