ross16689
Basically I've just realised a few weeks ago my firearms dealer sold me 100 .17hmr rounds at the one time instead of the max 50 I'm allowed- didn't realise at the time as I was distracted by all the shiny guns surrounding me. Has this happened to anyone before? Should I tell the local fao, I'm abou to apply for a variation so they will be seeing my certificate? Any advice would be great. cheers. Baldrick
You're only permitted 50 rounds on your FAC?! How did you get lumped with that?
ross16689
Not too sure, I'm only 19 and it's my first certificate. It's a giant pain on the **** having to go in every few days to get bullets, I'm only allowed 20 at a time for my .270 as well.
magman
I would get in touch with the RFD in question first mate as it seems you could both be in it . The thing that amazes me is you only being allowed to buy 50 at a time who's idea was that ?

njc110381
I'd go back to the dealer and get him to edit it. Are you over your possession limit or just your buy limit? Hopefully if it's just the buy limit he can just edit it to be 2x50 rounds. In all fairness you should have known not to ask for that many and he shouldn't have sold them to you! It's not good either way so get it fixed! Edited June 14, 2009 by njc110381

ross16689
From tayside, I didn't ask for 100, we were comparing 2 different boxes and he said I should try one of each to see which I liked, didn't click at the time it was wrong but yeah I should of realised, so the best course of action would be to go talk to the RFD and try get it sorted? MC
If you bought 2 different makes of ammo they should be listed seperately. So technically you haven't done anything wrong. You must be able to hold more than 50 rounds. You purchase allowance is what you can buy at any one time, there is nothing to stop you going straight back in the shop and buying another 50, as long as you don't exceed your holding allowance. If you only have 50 to hold then that is bonkers and you should apply for a variation as the only way you can buy some more is to run out completely.
