CZ527 .223

Recommended Posts

StuartP, shot his yesterday and it's spot on.

What turned me onto CZ's was the HMR I have - cheap, cheerful but accurate and ticks all the boxes.

I am going to get a CZ in .243.

Also, if the Howa I bought has since been lost (a long story) then I will like you be getting a CZ in .223.

Mark, be a love and cut and paste that - I have been banned by the BBS by suggesting that an over priced Sako up for sale was erm over priced. Quicker than you could say "the seller's a bum chum of one of the mods" and yours truly got a ban for interfering with a sale; no right of reply, just bannage. Indeed, I defy anyone to spend a week on the BBS and post and survive. Ah well, if they want to ban people with cleared funds and who deal straight from their sales sections then so be it - they are too busy keeping the door open for rip off merchants from what I can gather :/

winchester model 70 coyote .223

Winchester model 70 coyote .223 stainless barrel, blued action, 1 in 9 twist,

Screwcut and crowned (1/2” unf)

Rifle basix trigger (and factory unit)

Re worked bolt, for smoother cycling/extraction.

Leupold bases

Leupold 1” rings

Leupold 30mm rings

Also include professionally developed load data

(bipod, mod and scope not included)

if face to face i will include 50 rounds of homeloads to my own very accurate hunting load, 27gn H4895 50gn Ballistic tip (subject to allowance on FAC, and on the basis that i havent used them already)

i'm second owner, original owner had professionally loaded ammo made for it and the rifle was delivered with 100 rounds (55 vmax 26.3 gn AA2460, 3447 fps, cloverleaf groups).

when that was used he bought 100 blue box federal and only used 20 (shoots about 1" with them).

i shot the 80 federal, plus 20 reminton and 20 rws facory rounds (all shot 1" or there abouts).

i've also shot 100 55gn vmax and 100 55gn b tip (27gn h4895) and 9 65 btsp sierras (they shot 19mm at 25.5gn - need to be pushed faster i think?)

so about 450 plus whatever was used to develop that original load (about 9 rounds if it were me?).

the factory trigger has been worked over but still had some creep so i put a rifle basix in it which is fantastic.

the bore has been checked with a borescope and is prefect

the gun has cost me

£450 gun, rings, bases

£100 screwcut

£102 trigger

£30 30mm rings

asking price £550 face to face or RFD fees at cost

take it from me stay well away from that one. :/ Edited by plinker

Errrr I believe the word you gents are looking for is "battered".

Or rather, that guns been ******* well battered, as we would say in Essex.

Swervetastic.

What else is out there?

Mark, can you find me something in .243 local - that Sako was from a guy in Maldon (just down the road from me) and I would have paid him what it was worth - is that still on there?

So who's has one and what are they like?

Cheers chaps :)

LB

I have one, it has changed a bit since I bought it but it has always shot well.

I don't like the hogsback stocks some of them come with, mine is/was a Lux and the wooden stock was horrible, waaay to thin in the forend, I even pulled the QD stud out just putting a bipod on it

Having got rid of the stock and had it chopped by 3" I realy like it, shoots hand loads well, shoot factory stuff well, and it was as cheap as chips

The bolt is a bit agricultural compared to say a Tikka, but other than that, as tool for doing a job I can't fault it.

LB

Hi LB you are more than welcome to pop over anytime and have a few rounds with mine, cannot fault it since I had the bolt reworked, excellent value for money workhorse especially with S&B on top.

If your flexible we could have an evening at Charlie, from time to time I have a ******** to shoot over from the sunroof of the Def.

Come over and have a catch up
