huntercarbine
apparently they **** your barrel and leave fibres behind which bond with the lead deposited and ****** your rifleing. Dont know if theres any truth to this but lots of people have this opinion so i thought i'd let you know.

Colster
I did try some Prometheus Piledrivers that I got in a mixed trial pack of pellets. They hang out of the back of the breach when loaded which made me think they were going to catch when I closed the barrel (Gamo .22 Break barrel). Quite heavy but the penetration didn't seem any better than an ordinary dome and using them made me feel dirty lol I have never touched the plastic skirted ones as they make no sense to me, the theory is that in the journey down the barrel the plastic heats up and expands thereby giving a better seal so less air can push round the pellet and it all pushes behind the pellet. Most pellets seem to fit quite snug in my barrel and an increase in seal would also lead to an increase in friction. The principle as explained to me is that each pellet leaves a litte lead dust in the barrel which lubricates the barrel, shoving a load of plastic down the barrel will surely strip this out. I've also heard stories of the plastic shredding and getting left behind in the barrel and sound moderator. I'd bin em if I were you and feel lucky that your gun wasn't around to suffer them. Clubshot
Piledrivers was made for FAC Rate Guns - Plus 20 FP in .177 Plus 40FP in .22 As Stated on box for FAC Use - Was never made for Break Action Gun's - Even FAC Rated Ones.......... Plastic Skirted - Unchoked Rifles - Millions being Sold UK and overseas Markets There is pellets within Range for Most UK Shooters - Your loss as most are now being Exported - Best Laugh is when they come back under different marketing names You get Shooters Shouting how good they are............ :look: BOB/R
Colster
Piledrivers were made for FAC Rate Guns Ah that explains it. That's the trouble when you get these sampler packs, they don't tell you that, it just has the name.
teal27
If your after a heavier pellet try logun penetrators, i use them and they are extremely good for a heavy pellet.
bullet boy
Bisley Magnums are heavy-they hit hard and are also very accurate.
Clubshot
Weight is not everthing Pellet Shape also effect of end results A Domed pellet will give impact Damage and penetration But Bullet designed pellets have more weight up front for a heavier hit Exterminator / Penetrators - Same Pelletes different Boxes Are a good general pellet Do work best in a Clean Action Barrel - As Rifling Assists Speed & Accuracy.............. MPT1
The best pellets are definately Dynamics. They are lead-free not plastic and are made for springers at one weight and pcp at another.
JamesLeic
Bisley Magnums are heavy-they hit hard and are also very accurate. In a powerfull enough rifle this guy has the right advice bisley magnums all the way - but in answer to your question i find the prometheus inaccurate and in some of my rifles it gets jammed in the barrel (yes i am using the right cal. in the rifle) in short not suitable for task in my mind matey just stick to the tried and tested Edited July 9, 2009 by JamesLeic
G3COLLECTOR
promethus is usually a very good make - shame about these pellets
