Guest Mr Pieman
I've shot pigeons over potatoes before, in fairly large numbers. Usually in the winter though. Have a look in the field to see what else is growing, they might be after shoots from last season's crops if the farmer has rotated his fields. jordan
High velocity it is the same where i live there are three fields where potatoes were planted it was to wet to get them all out so they were left to rot the pigeons fed on these and are now eating some type of cabbagey plant thats growing there. ollie
I've shot pigeons over spuds before but it was quite a while back and I have never seen them in potato fields since.
Teal
In harsh winters after frost and snow and spuds left around will be tenderised when the field thaws and the pigeons can feed on them. But at this time of year I wouldn't imagine there's any eating on them, as said the birds are probably resting.
