libs
Just note down the serial number of the gun, wether given/lent/sold, cert number of the other party involved, your cert number and the date, obviously sign it, scan it for your records and send it recorded delivery. (don't think I have missed anything) (ohh yea and type of gun, sxs/ou/pump etcc..... and make) Edited July 7, 2009 by libs

malkiserow
Staffordshire police have a standard form that a quick call may get you one in the post. Warwickshire told me not to bother with the old standard form, just a letter with all the details (as above posts) is sufficient.
clayman
The law simply requires you notify certain detail within a certain time There is no prescribed or mandatory form you have to use, but most forces have a form they provide to assist in getting the right information. If you download a form from any police site, it should be perfectly acceptable with any other force as it simply asks for the precribed information. Essentially all you are doing is: Identifying yourself / cert no Stating what changes have been made sold/lent/bought a makers name / cailbre / type from, cert no or rfd and details The record should be independently confirmed by the other party, and if both tie up then you will not hear from the FLD. If there is a discrepancy or failure by one party to notify, expect an enquiry.
Scimiter
Hello. Here is a document I created in word you can use to notify the sale or transfer of a firearm/s. You can edit it in word or any text editor to suit your own needs then print or e-mail it to your Firearms Department. Regards. Scimiter. Cushat
Most of the police forces have a standard form on their website if you want to use it (usually under the firearms section) - it does make life a bit easier as you know you haven't missed anything. Don't know where you are but here's the Thames Valley one: http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/tnotice.pdf
malkiserow
Another thought .... Send in your letter/form to the correct department by recorded delivery and attach the Post Office receipt to your hard file copy.
hogey
Hi I just drop them an e mail with all the details and ask them to acknowledge receipt then file both and keep as proof. Northumbria Authority ok with this. Hogey
Marley29
All of this info can be emailed to your firearms dept. You then save yourself a trip to the post office and have a record in your "Sent Items" folder
Stamford
Do you have to send the licence in every time you buy or sell ?
